Newsletter of Hope - Staying Focused

 STAYING FOCUSED

I was away 6 days just recently in Scotland.  We went over to attend a Seminar.  When we arrived we decided to walk to the building that the meetings would be held in to give us a guide to how long it would take us to walk in the mornings to arrive on time and also to check out the area and buy some food for meals for our stay at the apartment that we were staying in.

The walk involved walking through a forest park that was close to were we were staying. It was a beautiful place.  On the way a beautiful dog came our way off the lead, my attention went to this dog and how lovely its eyes were.  The next thing I know I am on the ground.  I had went down a hole in the ground and went over on my ankle.  My knee on the left was bleeding and bruised and my right foot ankle was sore.

My initial THOUGHTS were ‘Oh no, I’m going to have to go to the hospital and get this checked out, I saw me walking with crutches etc and the days here in Scotland  being hindered because of my lack of mobility.’

BUT THEN the truth of the Word set in,  we prayed for healing and the pain to go.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.  By his wounds you have been healed. 2 Peter 2:24

I was helped up onto my feet again and continued on our journey to the building were the meetings were to be held and then went to two stores around the same area to do shopping for food. We must have walked at least 1-2 hours.  As we continued to walk I could feel my foot getting sore.  I continued to stand on the Word of God and declare and command healing.

And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.  Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.  Mark 11:22-23

As I have thought about this, I thank God for His true and living Word and for brothers and sisters in Christ that know and stand on the Word of God along side us.  This situation could have turned out as I had initially thought but through the Word and the understanding of the Word this situation was turned around. My focus went to Jesus and what He had accomplished on the whipping post and the cross for me.

As I have been pondering of what happened in Scotland, I was reminded to keep my eyes focused and firmly fixed on Jesus Christ no matter what happens.  So I want to remind you also to stay focused on Jesus and what His Word says about every situation thats going on around you, what’s happening in your body, what’s happening in your family, workplace, in your towns and cities.   Keep my eyes firmly fixed on Jesus.

Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2

After this fall and going over on my ankle, I could have chosen to focus on the pain, on my imagination planning out the outcome and end result of having to go to hospital and maybe having my ankle bandaged up or put in a cast.  I could have decided that thats this holiday ruined, I could have decided to complain and make the situation worse.  BUT, I made the decision and choose to stand upon the Rock, that being Jesus Christ.

He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. Psalms 62:6

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.  Proverbs 18:21

This fall never hindered me, and I give all the glory to God.  I continued to walk, and as I continued to walk the bruising spread across most of my foot, BUT the pain went, and I was able to walk without any hinderances or limping, it might have looked bad by sight but the healing had happened within.

I want to remind you, that no matter what it looks like to the eyes, remember that Jesus is working from within. His plans are much greater that we can even comprehend.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7

And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Choose to believe Him, choose to trust Him and what it says in His Word, not what the world says, not what our minds say, but what Jesus says.  His Word is the final say which is forever settled in Heaven. AMEN!

Choose Jesus, for through Him all things are possible!

Love Denise

Newsletter of Hope - Jesus

Jesus   Over this last year or two my life has changed dramatically.  My desires have also been changing and my heart even more so. I want to share with you just what that has mean’t for me.   I was in business, almost 30 years which involved working long hours and putting a lot of myself into it.  Things started to change for me and the joy of running this business was gone, I had no peace even though I still did the work, putting the effort and care into it as I always did, it just seemed to get harder financially, emotionally and physically.  On top of this my desire to do more for the Lord was growing in my heart, to spend time with Him, to study and share the deep love that was growing in me for Him.  I had a yearning to know Him more.   I became discouraged and burdened with the business, so there came a point nearly two years ago, that my husband and I decided to close the business down.  This was a difficult and hard decision because I...

Newsletter of Hope - Living life yielded to Holy Spirit

Living life yielded to Holy Spirit                                                        Over the last few months I have been thinking about life as the title says, being yielded to Holy Spirit all the time.   I love the Lord and want others to know about Jesus so that they also can be set free from pain and torment and brokenness, to be healed in their bodies, to know the truth that sets them free.  To have a relationship with Jesus now in this lifetime. I have noticed that there have been moments that I will ponder or hesitate to share Jesus with others.  Why is this?  For many years I struggled to speak to strangers, I could have a great conversation in my head, but actually speaking out of my mouth was very difficult, so difficult that when I tried to speak it came out as a muffle or broken and the person either did not ...

Newsletter of Hope - My people perish for the lack of knowledge

My people perish for the lack of knowledge   When we believe something or have been trained and taught in some way it can be difficult to change that thinking.  People can talk to you until they are blue in the face and still you continue to believe what you believed before. What has been instilled into you.  Your mindset about something. How do we change if something we are doing or thinking is not a benefit to us yet we still continue to do it? Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected  knowledge …. Notice in Hosea 4:6 it says they reject knowledge, so are rejecting the Word of God! When I was a young believer I was struggling with fear in my life.  I had had prayer and knew I had been set free from that hold, yet I was still experiencing those feelings and emotions associated with fear.  At that time I wanted the Lord to take it all away, for I hated fear, I hated feeling weak and not being able to do...
