There’s More
Before I knew Christ Jesus I was very passive, very quiet an introvert. I did not interact with people very well. When I was in my early twenties I worked in a typing pool for the Civil Service, which was a room of about 15 women who typed up specific jobs that came in. When I started this job I was so very quiet.
In this large room there was a sitting area to the corner where we would all sit and have our tea breaks and lunch. I would bring a book with me and sit and read or try to read so that it looked like I was doing something rather than try to make conversation with others, it helped me cope with being in a large group of people. As time went on I started to get to know some of the people in the typing pool, who I could take to my breaks or lunch with.
We had a Manager who managed the work, giving out specific jobs to certain people who had maybe more skills, some where audio typing, some were charts, spreadsheets etc. She also managed our breaks and time off and any other issues that arose. Our Manager had 2 or 3 ladies that would act up when she was off. These ladies would stand in and keep the work flowing through the typing pool etc.
I approached my Manager one day and asked her if I could be trained to act up. I think she was quite surprised because I was so quiet. You see, even though I was giving that impression of that outward quietness and passive appearance, there was more to me. My Manager did let me act up on 1-2 occasions which was really distributing the work around and sorting etc.
Then another time my Manager decided to do mock interviews to help us in the typing pool to be prepared for any interviews we would have to go to if we wanted to move to a different department. She picked her team of interviewer, I believe 3 others along with herself. A number of us went to the interview room one by one to be interviewed.
I went forward to gain confidence and practice because I was considering transferring to another department. The interviews they hold have 4-5 people asking you questions, so preparation and practice is defiantly helpful. At the finish it was announced that I had been given the job in these mock interviews.
There was more to me than what meets the eye. There was more to me that people did not see because of my outward persona, my outward appearance.
So today I want to say to you, if you are born again, that you have made Jesus your Lord and Saviour, there is more to you than what people can see. The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is in you, far greater than anything of this world. He lives in you.
Romans 10:9 If you, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him for the dead, you will be saved.
1John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Romans 8:10-11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living with you.
The Holy Spirit is our helper, part of the God Head, Father - Son - Holy Spirit. Think upon that. Who is in you, who is your helper. Isn’t this amazing!
Romans 8 :31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Then there is even more. It says this in Acts 2:-
When the day Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues as of fire, being distributed and resting on each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to speak.
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you:
We as the body of Christ are more than conquerors through Christ. It’s time to take off that old self, the one that was a victim, the one that has been told they are survivors, the one that was told they will amount to nothing. You are an overcomer through Christ, greater is He that is in you than he that is off the world!
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new.
It’s time to take your place, to take your position in the body of Christ. You are here for a purpose. God knew you before he formed you in your mother’s womb!
The devil is defeated - I say again greater is He that is in you than he that is off the world.
It’s time to shine and take ground, to shine light in this darkened world.
Matthew 5: 14-16 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
We are His hands and feet, His mouth peace, going forward not alone but Christ in you, the hope of glory.
God Bless you
Love Denise
