Newsletter of Hope - Lord help us!

Lord help us!

Over the last few weeks I have contacted a professional body to make an appointment and also a small business to get a quotation.  These people I maybe have not seen in over a year.  The professional body first off did not reply to my email, I sent it again a couple of weeks later and did gain a response that time.  On calling with this professional body (when it had been agreed for us to call), I could see a pressure on him and us being there was putting even more pressure on him, as he mentioned that he had to have something submitted that day that he had not finished yet.  He revealed to me that the governmental bodies where needing more and more information that was taking even more time to complete.

Then the small business that I approached for a quotation, I was told three times in that week that the quotation would be with me that day.  A week later I still had not received it, again was told they had a big job on and needed to finish it for a certain time frame.

I have been away from working a business with premises for just over a year now and seeing the pressure on these people, I am sure I made the right decision.  This is not a lifestyle that I desire to have.  It is not getting any easier.

Gods will for us is to be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10).  His will is that we can rest in Him.

Matthew 11:28-30  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Many years ago I would have worked from early in the morning until late at night, bringing work home with me.  I was always working.  I did not find any rest, and my sleep was also very poor. I kept up that pace for a long time until my body crashed and I have a breakdown. Seeing the workload on these people this week caused me to be very thankful for the lifestyle I now have.

The world is becoming very busy and very complicated and I see this in people today.  People are in a rush, no time to chat, they don't see whats going on around them because of all the things that they need to accomplish in that day.  Their minds are on themselves, their lives, their family, their siblings, their work.

I went out this week to share the love and goodness of God with people that where out and about in a town.  So many people just did not want to stop and chat, they were in a rush, they had an agenda for that time even if it was just having a brisk walk.  This has burdened me somewhat for I can see how the devil is trying to create a place of chaos, of busyness. That people are being completely consumed by life, with little time for others.  This is so, so, sad.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Phil 4: 6-7

Mark 6:31-32  Then, because so many people where coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet please and get some rest.”

So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.

The greatest gift you can be to someone, is to be that stable person in those times of chaos, to be someone that has an answer from the wisdom of the Word of God for those needing guidance, to be that someone that will stand along side those that are in a time of trial, that will come along side and pray, to be that someone that knows Jesus, that knows what was accomplished on the cross and resurrection, to take dominion over the devils plan to steal, kill and destroy, to be that someone loving on those that have been rejected or who are broken. You are that someone that a person may need today.  I am that someone that a person may need today.

I want to encourage you today, to look around, look at the faces of those around you, ask the Lord to bring someone or show you someone that you could be a listening ear to today, to encourage, to love on and most of all represent Jesus.  We are the body of Christ, lets represent Jesus. Let us be that light in this darkened world.  People need Jesus for He is the only way, lets share the joy of the Lord, let us share His love, let us let people know that there is a way of escape and that there is hope. Lets represent Jesus to the world!

Love

Newsletter of Hope - My people perish for the lack of knowledge

My people perish for the lack of knowledge   When we believe something or have been trained and taught in some way it can be difficult to change that thinking.  People can talk to you until they are blue in the face and still you continue to believe what you believed before. What has been instilled into you.  Your mindset about something. How do we change if something we are doing or thinking is not a benefit to us yet we still continue to do it? Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected  knowledge …. Notice in Hosea 4:6 it says they reject knowledge, so are rejecting the Word of God! When I was a young believer I was struggling with fear in my life.  I had had prayer and knew I had been set free from that hold, yet I was still experiencing those feelings and emotions associated with fear.  At that time I wanted the Lord to take it all away, for I hated fear, I hated feeling weak and not being able to do...

Newsletter of Hope - Obedience - what does that look like?

Obedience - what does that look like? Obedience means - compliance with a command.  Obedience may be voluntary or involuntary.  Voluntary obedience alone can be acceptable to God. Abstaining from what is prohibited.  These are a few things that I came across when looking up what Obedience means. Over this last while Holy Spirit has been working with me on my obedience to Him. Obeying His promptings as He shows me and not putting other things first.   When I was out posting the last Newsletter through the doors of my street, I looked down an alleyway and saw a person sitting on the ground.  Instantly, I thought to go and chat to this person to see if they were okay.  Instead of doing that I finished posting the last 3 Newsletters through the doors as that was the last three houses I had to do to finish the job.  When I walked back to the lane that person was gone.  This really caused me to see that I put finishing that job first before b...

Newsletter of Hope - Staying Focused

STAYING FOCUSED  I was away 6 days just recently in Scotland.  We went over to attend a Seminar.  When we arrived we decided to walk to the building that the meetings would be held in to give us a guide to how long it would take us to walk in the mornings to arrive on time and also to check out the area and buy some food for meals for our stay at the apartment that we were staying in. The walk involved walking through a forest park that was close to were we were staying. It was a beautiful place.  On the way a beautiful dog came our way off the lead, my attention went to this dog and how lovely its eyes were.  The next thing I know I am on the ground.  I had went down a hole in the ground and went over on my ankle.  My knee on the left was bleeding and bruised and my right foot ankle was sore.   My initial THOUGHTS were ‘Oh no, I’m going to have to go to the hospital and get this checked out, I saw me walking with crutches etc and the da...
