Complacency
I feel very burdened with this message. I ask you to read it with eyes to see and ears to hear and an open heart to receive.
Over the last few weeks I had been away spending time with other born again believers from different countries of the World. In one way I was so blessed and encouraged meeting new people in the body of Christ and in other ways I was so convicted.
Now that I am home again and have had time to think upon my time away and the people I have met, it has made me unsatisfied with how I am living my life. The people I met and there testimonies has made me see what it really means to be belong to Jesus, to say ‘Lord here I am, send me’.
Matthew 5:16. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.
Spending time with these brothers and sisters in Christ has ignited something inside of me, that I want to pursue the purpose and plan God has for my life. To sit at His feet, to rest and draw close to Him, learning of Him through His Word, through doing His Word and trusting Him. Letting Holy Spirit lead me where I should go, where I should be, and what I should be doing, stretching me and taking me out of my comfort zone.
Proverbs 16:9. The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
The scripture that has been on my mind and heart is Revelation 3:15-20.
I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realising that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be see and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent….
This Word is something to take notice of, to speak with Holy Spirit and ask Him what changes need to happen in your life, what sacrifices need to be made to follow Jesus.
All too often I have found myself busy. I heard someone put it this way ‘being under satans yoke’. So when I hear myself say, things like ‘I’m so busy’, then I need to take note and re-assess my life. The devil does not mind if you get busy in the world or even busy doing Kingdom work. If you are busy then you are not spending that precious time with the Lord. We seek first the Kingdom of God, come into his gates with thanksgiving and praise. Remember we can only do all things THROUGH CHRIST who gives us strength. Our relationship with Jesus comes first!
Someday we will all meet with the Lord, there is no getting out of that.
2Corinthians 5:10. For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
Matthew 7:21-23. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?” And then I will declare to them, ‘I never new you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!.
I want to encourage you to sit with the Lord and seek Him on the things of your life. Ask him what needs to change, then make those changes. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. Refuse to let distractions keep you away from that intimacy with the Lord. Set aside time for the most important person in your life, Jesus. Put Him first and see change happen.
Romans 12:11. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Luke 12:35. “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning.
Psalm 100:1-5. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
