Newsletter of Hope - Run to Jesus

Run to Jesus

I have been looking at two plants in my garden.  One I just planted has multiplied, increased and is flourishing.  Another plant that I have is not doing so well, the leaves of that plant have been eaten and destroyed by bugs, all that is left are the stems, it is barren and struggling to stay alive.

The plant that is flourishing is getting what it needs to live and multiply, what it carries and what is within it resists the bugs.  This plant also can feed livestock, it also has qualities to help with healing of our bodies and has many other uses.  This plant reseeds itself and it creates new plants every year. It also has good deep roots established and not easily removed.  You can take flowers or leaves off this plant and it still stands strong and continues to grow.

When we are in a relationship with Jesus, reading His Word, knowing our authority, knowing who we are in Christ, our identity, then we are like the plant that is flourishing.  We will know that Jesus defeated satan and that he is under our feet.  We will know that Jesus spoke ‘it is written’ speaking the Word when satan came to tempt Him.  We will know what has already been accomplished on the cross. When we have that relationship with the Lord, knowing His heart, knowing His love for us and for others, then we can pour into others what God has done for us, to the broken, the lost, the captives, those that are just not doing life so well, those that have not heard about Jesus and how He loves them so much.

Jeremiah 17: 7-8. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.  He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.

Just recently when a few of us where out in the streets sharing the love of Christ, we met a man.  This man had lost a lot of weight and was going in for an operation after he had been injured by another person.  As we chatted to him we came to know that he had asked Jesus into his heart, but was not walking with the Lord or in a relationship with Him at that time.  One of the team said to this man that we as children of God are meant to crush satan under our feet not the other way around letting satan crush us.

Luke 10:19. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

This man resembles the plant that is barren, it has no protection, it is struggling with life not able to flourish or reproduce and eventually could die if things do not change, if the conditions do not change.

When we are living life with Jesus, then its like a netting that is put over plants to stop the bugs getting in and destroying the entire plant.  Yes on occasion a few may get through the netting but the damage is minimal.  The plant will recover from any damage that might have came with that attack and be even stronger.

Just recently I had some vegetable plants growing.  I was only up at this garden once a week or fortnight so have not really kept a close check on them.  I noticed that there were some eggs on the leaves but did not have time to deal with them or lift them off.  The next time I was at this garden the eggs were hatching but again I had no time to do anything about it.  The leaves were getting eaten.  The following week I went up to look, all that was left was a stub in the ground not even the stems of the leaves.  It was so bad I thought sheep had broke in but there were no foot prints.  The bugs had devoured the entire plant.  This plant will die and not come back and will go back to compost, back to dirt.

Colossians 2:6-7. And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.  Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him.  Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

I implore you to run to Jesus, life without him is too hard, you were not born to be a slave to be trampled on, to be pulled down, you were born to be an ambassador for

Christ Jesus, His voice, His hands and feet.  You were born to do Kingdom Work, to stand tall, with a purpose, with a voice.  The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, to press you down, make you feel unworthy of love, make you hate yourself, to ensnare you with addictions, to steal your hope and future, and eventfully to kill and destroy. Don’t let Him, decide today to say NO to the devil, see the truth and recognise that this is not the life God has for you.  Cry out to God to help you.  If you have never asked Jesus to come into your heart, ask Him now, call on His name, cry out to Him, forgive me Lord Jesus, come into my heart, I make you my Lord and Saviour. Say YES to Jesus today.  If you have known Jesus at a time in your life and have lost that relationship with Him, come back to Him, He is waiting with outstretched arms ready to welcome you Home again to your first love. Its not too late, but time is running out, make that decision today to Run to Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21.  Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.  We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  For our sake he made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Love Denise

Newsletter of Hope - My people perish for the lack of knowledge

My people perish for the lack of knowledge   When we believe something or have been trained and taught in some way it can be difficult to change that thinking.  People can talk to you until they are blue in the face and still you continue to believe what you believed before. What has been instilled into you.  Your mindset about something. How do we change if something we are doing or thinking is not a benefit to us yet we still continue to do it? Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected  knowledge …. Notice in Hosea 4:6 it says they reject knowledge, so are rejecting the Word of God! When I was a young believer I was struggling with fear in my life.  I had had prayer and knew I had been set free from that hold, yet I was still experiencing those feelings and emotions associated with fear.  At that time I wanted the Lord to take it all away, for I hated fear, I hated feeling weak and not being able to do...

Newsletter of Hope - Obedience - what does that look like?

Obedience - what does that look like? Obedience means - compliance with a command.  Obedience may be voluntary or involuntary.  Voluntary obedience alone can be acceptable to God. Abstaining from what is prohibited.  These are a few things that I came across when looking up what Obedience means. Over this last while Holy Spirit has been working with me on my obedience to Him. Obeying His promptings as He shows me and not putting other things first.   When I was out posting the last Newsletter through the doors of my street, I looked down an alleyway and saw a person sitting on the ground.  Instantly, I thought to go and chat to this person to see if they were okay.  Instead of doing that I finished posting the last 3 Newsletters through the doors as that was the last three houses I had to do to finish the job.  When I walked back to the lane that person was gone.  This really caused me to see that I put finishing that job first before b...

Newsletter of Hope - Staying Focused

STAYING FOCUSED  I was away 6 days just recently in Scotland.  We went over to attend a Seminar.  When we arrived we decided to walk to the building that the meetings would be held in to give us a guide to how long it would take us to walk in the mornings to arrive on time and also to check out the area and buy some food for meals for our stay at the apartment that we were staying in. The walk involved walking through a forest park that was close to were we were staying. It was a beautiful place.  On the way a beautiful dog came our way off the lead, my attention went to this dog and how lovely its eyes were.  The next thing I know I am on the ground.  I had went down a hole in the ground and went over on my ankle.  My knee on the left was bleeding and bruised and my right foot ankle was sore.   My initial THOUGHTS were ‘Oh no, I’m going to have to go to the hospital and get this checked out, I saw me walking with crutches etc and the da...
